Benny The Butcher x Thelonious Coltrane "Machine Gun Chords"

Machine Gun Chords is essentially a remixed album with beats by Thelonious Coltrane from Georgia and ripped AI acapellas from Benny The Butcher. Added to it are vocals from Pusha T, Stove God Cooks, Skyzoo, Jadakiss, 38 Spesh, Westside Gunn, Mayhem Lauren, RJ Payne, Conway The Machine, Diddy, Ransom and more. The fine artwork was handled by Wizard Steez. Bootleg, for sure... but creativity is what birthed hip-hop, so using technological advances to create something new is not going too far against the grain. That said, I do respect ownership so if this project gets taken down, I certainly won't be surprised. In the meantime, enjoy Machine Gun Chords streaming below...

DJ Invasion "Plugs At The Apollo" (Blend Tape)

Plugs At The Apollo, the latest project by DJ Invasion, takes a verbal stroll through Buffalo, with Detroit as the musical back drop. Benny The Butcher's street infested gritty rhymes intertwined with Apollo Brown's vinyl crackling soulful beats, is a classic "What If?" combination, brought to life. Through years of manifesting this clash of styles, "Plugs At The Apollo" will take you on a musical journey through the everyday struggles, harsh realities, and making the almighty dollar, to come out on top.  This came out pretty fresh... The Griselda & The Chosen 1 Tape (EP Stream, 2020)

This an interesting release... DJ Chosen 1's beats with vocals from rare Griselda freestyles. The 9-track EP features tracks with Conway The Machine, Benny The Butcher, Westside Gunn, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Nipsey Hussle and even an interview with the late great Reggie Osse (aka Combat Jack - Rest In Peace!). Benny The Butcher "Tana Talk 4" (Album Stream)

Tana Talk 4 is the latest entry in a series of Benny The Butcher mixtapes; the last Tana Talk came out in 2018. Early word was that Tana Talk 4 would be produced entirely by the Alchemist. As it turns out, that wasn’t quite accurate. The Alchemist produced seven of the album’s 12 tracks, with longtime Griselda collaborators Daringer and Beat Butcha handling the rest. Still, it’s a sonically cohesive album. All of these tracks hit the same rainswept cinematic groove. Tana Talk 4 is mostly just Benny barring out, talking shit, and getting granular about his drug-trade past. That approach is not broken, and he didn’t fix it. Most of the other rappers on Tana Talk 4 are the usual Griselda suspects: Conway, Westside Gunn, Boldy James, Stove God Cooks, 38 Spesh. But we also get J. Benny The Butcher "Pyrex Picasso" (EP Stream)

Once again proving to be one of the hardest working MC’s when it comes to rolling out music, Griselda’s Benny the Butcher returned today with a new EP titled Pyrex Picasso. The 7-song EP, which features Conway the Machine, Rick Hyde, and Elcamino, follows in the footsteps of The Plugs I Met 2, the Harry Fraud-produced project that was released earlier this year. The new EP is a collection of songs recorded 3 years ago, according to Benny’s Instagram, and was recorded in its entirety in a single day. “Had to let that be known,” the rapper captioned the post on Insta, “go cop that shit.” - Complex. 38 Spesh and Benny The Butcher have brought together their respective labels (TCF and BSF) for a compilation entitled Trust The Sopranos. This monumental meeting of the minds features potent verses from Benny The Butcher, 38 Spesh, Elcamino, Ransom, Che Noir, Klass Murda, Heem, RickHyde, Chase Fetti, Ampichino, and Street Justice. As well as production from an all-star line-up which includes 38 Spesh, RickHyde, DJ Shay, IceRocks, Buda + Grandz, Corty Tez, and Reddy Roc. Mere months after releasing an undisputed AOTY contender for 2020 with Burden Of Proof and only three months after being shot, Benny is back on his feet (way ahead of schedule) and re-immersed in his element “back to that little pot, that little flame”. While he has separated himself from his peers, Benny from Montana Ave knows the game is to be sold and never told and he has put all of these accolades in his rearview mirror to focus on his next lick; The Plugs I Met 2. The Plugs I Met 2 is the coronation of a true G going from worker to the PLUG---and never looking back. “I came in as an underdog, to filling out my position as one of the elite rhymers in the industry. Griselda & BSF "Conflicted" (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

Ahead of the release of the label's debut feature film Conflicted, Griselda and BSF Records have unleashed the hard-hitting original soundtrack. Featuring appearances from the Griselda crew's Benny the Butcher, Boldy James, and Westside Gunn, the soundtrack brings that distinctive gruff New York sound to the film. The crew is also joined by the likes of Wale, Dave East, Lloyd Banks, Free Lord, El Camino, Smoke DZA, Billy V, and Heem among others. The production, meanwhile, is mostly handled by in-house producer Daringer, with contributions from the late DJ SHay, Camouflage Monk, Cee Gee, IceRoxx, Fuse, and 808 Mafia. Directed by AK Reed, Conflicted is the debut feature film from Griselda and stars Benny the Butcher as a Buffalo gangster fresh out of prison. Written by and co-starring MMA fighter Deuce King, the cast of the film also includes the likes of Westside Gunn, Michael Rapaport, and J Holiday among others. Benny The Butcher "Burden of Proof" (Album Stream)

Benny The Butcher's latest solo project is entitled Burden of Proof. The Buffalo-bred MC has put together another solid release with his follow-up to last year's The Plugs I Met EP. The new LP features Rick Ross, Freddie Gibbs, Lil Wayne, Big Sean, Dom Kennedy, Westside Gunn, Conway and more! The entire LP is produced by Hit-Boy, who also produced recent albums for Nas and Big Sean. Griselda Records is having one of the best runs we've ever seen, and this is another great project in their collective's catalog. Benny The Butcher & J Dilla "Butcherin' Donuts" (Mixtape)

In 2020, one of the most exciting MCs of late is Benny The Butcher. One-third of the Griselda group, the Buffalo, New Yorker goes full speed ahead at being one of most prolific high-quality feature MCs in quite some time. Out of relative obscurity over years in the game, Benny is among the best in the business, now in his mid-thirties. Benny’s career was molded in the streets of Buffalo at the same time Dilla was lacing Common, Q-Tip, and working with his Stones Throw Records family. The Butcher never got a batch of donuts from the Detroit, Michigan producer. However, the Altered Crates crew continue their penchant for surgical mash-ups with Butcherin’ Donuts. The nine-track effort fuses Dilla beats with Benny raps, including guest shots from Black Thought, Westside Gunn, Styles P, Conway The Machine, and 38 Spesh. As always, Altered Crates looks far and wide for sources that fit together nicely. The 9 songs show the range in both artists. - AFH

Smoke DZA and Benny The Butcher combine for an all Pete Rock produced EP entitled Statue Of Limitations. The 6-track EP also features some of NY and underground rap's biggest MC's like Griselda labelmates Conway the Machine and WestSide Gunn, as well as The LOX's underground OG, Styles P. The real takeaway are the hard, thumpin' beats from Pete Rock, who has been one of the greatest producers since he broke into the scene over two decades ago. Following his debut Butcher On Steroids through Griselda Records, Benny brings some of the usual suspects with him for his latest release, A Friend Of Ours. Guest features include 38 Spesh, El Camino, Dark Lo, Skyzoo and Dufflebag Hottie. Production comes from Rick Hyde, Chup, DJ Shay, and Marc Spano. These underground kingpins were both at their hungriest at the top of 2018 and this LP is the proof. Benny the Butcher is as hot as any artist on the planet right now, fresh off of an incredible 2019 with his The Plugs I Met project, the collaborative effort Statue of Limitations (with Smoke DZA), and his Shady Records debut alongside his Griselda brethren Westside Gunn and Conway the Machine, entitled WWCD. 38 Spesh is heading up the Trust movement, and also had a stellar few years, including his Son of G Rap album (alongside Kool G Rap) and songs with Styles P, Jadakiss, Uncle Murda, AZ, N.O.R.E., Kool G Rap, and French Montana. He has worked with several high-profile producers as well, including the likes of DJ Premier, Pete Rock and Alchemist.
