After releasing the critically acclaimed Bandana album in 2019, Freddie Gibbs returns with The Alchemist behind the boards for what is being hailed as one of the best albums in 2020 with, Alfredo. A play on both Freddie and Alchemist's names, the project also boasts features from Rick Ross, Tyler, The Creator, Benny The Butcher, and Conway the Machine. I'll keep it a buck, I'm still on the fence with Freddie Gibbs - and it's not a popular opinion, but I didn't LOVE the Madlib projects as much as everyone else did. I do, however, like the fit of Gibbs and The Alchemist together, plus I do like his overall demeanor on the mic. Maybe this LP will grow on me more than the others have. If not, well... this post is bookmarked to show proof that I did sit with the album at least. Dig in...
