DJ Geo Roc "2 Da Death, Chapter III" (Mixtape, 1996)

Oh man, this is a treat right here! Queens' DJ Geo Roc, who spent some time living in my old neighborhood (Middle Village), put out 2 Da Death, Chapter III in 1996. I've shared two other really solid mixes from DJ Geo Roc (in the archives) but didn't have my hands on this one at the time. I recently saw it shared online (via RapMullet), and had to dig back into this lost gem. Joints from Nas, Mobb Deep, Heltah Skeltah, Artifacts, The Roots, Black Moon, Smif-N-Wessun, Jay-Z, The Firm, M.O.P., Killa Kidz, Inspectah Deck and a brief section of blended R&B joints from Monica, Gina Thompson, Skin Deep, New Edition, Case and more. I'd been hoping to find more throwback mixes from DJ Geo Roc, so hopefully more do resurface. For now, enjoy Chapter III of 2 Da Death below...

DJ Geo Roc (Queens, NY) dropped '2 Da Death, Chapter IV: The Return' in 1996. The mixtape features classic cuts, freestyles and original blends featuring artists like Mobb Deep, Nas, Mic Geronimo, Royal Flush, Big Noyd, Jeru The Damaja, Raekwon, Xzibit, The Firm, Bahamadia, Kool G Rap, Redman, Cormega, M.O.P., Busta Rhymes and a few R&B cuts from Mona Lisa, The Isley Brothers, Horace Brown, Babyface, and more. DJ Geo Roc "Queens Get The Money" (Mixtape, 1998)

This is 1998's Queens Get The Money from DJ Geo Roc. Ironically, at one point DJ Geo Roc lived in the same neighborhood I was born in out in Queens, a small piece of Queens called Middle Village. Similar to DJ Rip One, DJ Geo Roc utilized a 4-track for his mixes, which was a special and laborious way to make a mix tape, but they were always especially dope. His Queens Get The Money mix tape from '98 has a lot of dope freestyles, blends, and solid cuts from ACD, Mobb Deep, Royal Flush, Nas, Mic Geronimo, Capone-N-Noreaga, LL Cool J, Infamous Mobb, The Beatnuts, Big Noyd, Cormega, Lost Boyz, Kool G Rap, Nature and lots more.
