Y'all should know by now... I'm a sucker for the genre-bending sound of when Dancehall meets Hip-Hop (and vice versa). DJ DS tackles the popular sub-genre with his latest mix, Sound Clash: When Hip Hop & Reggae Collide. The mix features tracks from Fu-Schnickens, Reflection Eternal, Planet Asia, Johnny Osbourne, Lady Apache, 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., D&D AllStars, Sister Nancy, Main Source, Masta Ace, Barrington Levy, Yellowman, Sir Menelik, Tenor Saw, Fat Joe, Mad Lion, Yammie Bolo, Black Star, Poor Righteous Teachers, Smif-N-Wessun, Ninja Man, Da Bush Babees, and so much more! DJ DS & Jimmy Green "Original Soundtrack: Hip Hop at the Movies"

DJ DS drops off his latest mix with Jimmy Green, The Original Soundtrack: Hip Hop From The Movies, and includes the following message: "I’ve been really excited to put this out! I'm a huge fan of Jimmy Green’s mixes and have become good fiends with him over the last year. When we agreed to do a collaborative mix, I was honored but a little nervous too. Jimmy has been amazing and it’s been great to bounce ideas around! We split the mix equally and created it together. I’m really pleased with how it’s turned out! The Original Soundtrack: Hip Hop at the Movies celebrates the film soundtracks that hip hop artists graced in the 90’s, along with more recent editions to add to the mix! Huge thanks Jimmy for being such a legend and to everyone who provided a drop for the mix. Special shout outs to Bob Bell & Rosie, who hooked us up with the intro, intermission and movie skit... DJ DS "Latin You Know!" (Mixtape)

Props to DJ DS, who shares this info with his latest mix, "As it’s summer here in the UK, I naturally start to listen to more Brazilian & Latin music alongside the normal diet of hip hop, etc. With my father being Portuguese, maybe it’s imprinted in my DNA. I’ve called it ‘Latin You Know’ for two reasons. The first is letting you know all about the music’s roots and where the breaks come from. The other is that you will hopefully hear tracks that you recognise but didn’t realise that you knew." Thanks to the tracklist DJ DS included, you will have a nice starting point to dig through some Brazilian and Latin crates if you feel so inclined. DJ DS says, "After a two-month hiatus it’s time to go ‘Back to School’ and to my 5th year, 1990! This was the first half of my final school year and the penultimate mix in this series. No idea what happened here as these mixes have averaged one hour and twenty minutes. This one clocks in at nearly an hour longer! This time around, I’m messing more with the original breaks and samples, alongside the usual doubles, samples, movie quotes from that year and all that good stuff!
