Asun Eastwood "The S.O.U.L." (Album Stream)

The S.O.U.L. is the latest LP from Canadian eMCee, Asun Eastwood. Reuniting with producer Finn, The S.O.U.L. (Science of Understanding Life) features the homie Ill Conscious, Daniel Son, Rigz, Flee Lord,  Saipher Soze, M.A.V., and more. Some of the features are dope, others are a bit lackluster, but overall it doesn't take much away from the project. The production is real solid throughout with soulful boombap-inspired soundscapes. The album is available on CD and Vinyl via Gold Era up in Toronto, ON. Dig into the archives for other related projects as this new crop of eMCees are definitely doing their thing consistently. Honestly, I'm still getting put on to the back catalog. Dig in...

Daniel Son, Asun Eastwood & Futurewave "Bite The Bullet"

Bite the Bullet is a collaborative album between Daniel Son, Asun Eastwood and producer Futurewave! Canada's bringing more underground heat to the table with this one, but y'all already know that Toronto has had held some of the best talent for years now. The 12-track LP boasts guest appearances from 36th Cypher, Kardinal Offishal, Mooch, Rob Gates, Rome Streetz and Saipher Soze. I appreciate the nod to Redman with the dope artwork, and the overall consistency of the raw beats and rhymes featured on the project. Definitely check out Bite The Bullet below...

Asun Eastwood, Daniel Son & Futurewave "Physics of Faith"

Asun Eastwood, Daniel Son and Futurewave, are names that have been bringing quite a buzz to the masses. They’ve taken turns appearing on one another’s solo projects, bringing nothing but premium product. Knowing what they’re capable of, we asked for more, and they supplied. This is their time, it’s just the beginning of a continued wave of success for these talented individuals. Collectively, these 3 bring us Physics of Filth where they take us back down the dark streets of Toronto through detailed lyrical depictions and beats as cold as the hearts of the lost souls who roam the alleys at night. Enjoy this latest offering, and appreciate the blood, sweat and tears they put in to give us an album that’s nothing short of pure quality.  - via Hipnotik1. Dig into this dope LP below...

Asun Eastwood "Hollywood Briggs" (Album Stream)

Asun Eastwood is from Toronto, Canada. His latest 13-track effort is a tribute to a brother who passed away and he honors him through the music and title of the project, Hollywood Briggs. The production is handled by Futurewave, Uncle D.O.E., Onaje Jordan, Ol Man 80zz, Jon Jones and Finn, as well as features from Daniel Son, Flashius Clayton, Snacks, and Conway the Machine. This is a strong project from an artist whose NIMBUS project I also enjoyed, as well as features I'd heard on other artists' records. I don't know much about him personally, but the music is working and I'm keeping an eye out for more. Toronto has a ton of talent up North, it's bubbling heavy in the underground.

Asun Eastwood "NIMBUS" (EP Stream)

NIMBUS is the debut EP from Toronto MC, Asun Eastwood. The 9-track effort includes all original production, combined with standout features from three of the underground's heaviest spitters: Conway the Machine, Skyzoo and Daniel Son. It also features Koolaid Tha Rebel, Papa P and Black Nazi. The EP is executive produced by Uncle D.O.E., but not sure if he produced the EP as well? Clue me in. Either way, this sound fits well with what's moving in the underground today and it's no surprise Asun Eastwood is from up North; the scene in Toronto has been alive for a long time, especially in the underground (no shade to Drake). Asun is one to watch ... Meanwhile, listen below...
