A Tribe Called Quest, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Lords of the Underground ... I couldn't wait. Blu & Exile give me that same feeling and they did NOT disappoint with their latest offering, Love (the) Ominous World. MC Lyte "1 of 1" (Album Stream)

1 of 1 is the brand new album from Brooklyn icon, MC Lyte. The album boasts 17 tracks featuring artists such as Queen Latifah, Ghostface Killah, Stevie Wonder, Common, Big Daddy Kane, Raheem DeVaughn, Q-Tip and more. The stellar production is handled by Easy Moe Bee, Nottz, DJ Skratch, The King of Chill, the homie Koncept and other talented producers. It's been almost a decade since her last full-length release, Legend, but MC Lyte is back with a really solid, inspiring effort in 1 of 1. Lyte released the album she truly wanted to make and you can hear it on every track. I've had the pleasure of connecting with MC Lyte over the years and her support for my artist Eternia was felt and appreciated on multiple occasions - from shows in Brooklyn to brief interviews and words of advice. LL Cool J "The Force" (Album Stream)

Queens Hip-Hop legend LL Cool J returns with The FORCE, his first new album in more than a decade. Produced in its entirety by A Tribe Called Quest’s Q-Tip, The FORCE (an acronym for Frequencies Of Real Creative Energy) represents years of intense work. Ant "Collection of Sounds Vol. 1" (Instrumental Album)

Anthony “Ant” Davis is a distinguished hip-hop producer, one-half of the renowned duo Atmosphere, and a founding member of independent record label Rhymesayers Entertainment. His decades-long career of beat-making has also included works for MF DOOM, Brother Ali, Murs, Rav, Sage Francis and a dozen others. Raised in a military family, his nomadic upbringing exposed him to many diverse influences and, coupled with his father’s love for collecting records, laid the groundwork for his deep appreciation for all sorts of music. Ant’s latest endeavor, Collection of Sounds, is a four-volume series of instrumental works showcasing the breadth and depth of his musical expertise. The Collection of Sounds series offers a window into Ant's creative journey, reflecting his evolution as an artist over the years. Drawing from a vast vault of unreleased material, he’s exhumed cross sections of his catalog with surgical precision, organizing songs by sound rather than mere chronology. Volume 1 is at times so intimate as to border on claustrophobia, like the creeping “Bar One,” or the haunted twinkling of “I Was Always a Collector,” while other tracks are expansive enough to fill entire venues, like the forebodingly airy “4-Track Beyond Beat 1996." Many of the beats on Collection of Sounds: Volume 1 have pockets that are practically begging for rappers to explore. Collection of Sounds is not about forgetting who you are—it’s about remembering, reconfiguring, and reimagining, all at once; a testament to Ant's artistic integrity. Listen to it below...

The LOX "Live From Noochie’s Front Porch" (Video)

In an era bloated with overproduction and rented vibes, The LOX remind us why the foundation still matters. Jadakiss, Styles P, and Sheek Louch—hip-hop’s grimiest holy trinity—stepped onto Noochie’s front porch in Southeast Washington, D.C. and delivered something rare: a performance that felt both timeless and urgent. This wasn’t a stage soaked in LED lights and choreographed smoke. It was concrete steps, folding chairs, and neighborhood energy. And that’s exactly where The LOX thrive. The performance channeled D-Block basement energy, the kind of cipher spirit that birthed them out of Yonkers. With a setlist that pulled from the Ruff Ryders vaults—“Dope Money,” “Wild Out,” and other deep cuts—they gave real heads the kind of moment we rarely see anymore: raw, unfiltered emceeing with nothing but bars and brotherhood. There’s an ease between them that only comes with time and loyalty. No gimmicks. This was for the culture, not the clicks. 

DJ Keytronikz "Only Built 4 Da Poor & Dangerous" (Blend Tape)

DJ Keytronikz is a producer/DJ from Raleigh, North Carolina. Only Built 4 Da Poor & Dangerous is his recent blend-tape which features 12 joints of Big L's vocals from Lifestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous blended over the crisp production from the RZA on Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. Those two projects were released in the Spring and Summer of 1995, making it one of the best years in hip-hop history! Guest vocals on this tape include Herb McGruff, Cam'ron, Lord Finesse, Jay-Z, Grand Daddy I.U., Party Arty and more. Tapes like this are undoubtedly a labor of love, but unfortunately they don't always survive once they hit DSPs, so stream it below and enjoy it while you can! Peace.

Diamond D "The Diam Piece III: Initium" (Album Stream)

Diamond D is back with the 3rd installment of his Diam Piece series, The Diam Piece 3: Initium. According to Fat Beats Records, Vol. 3 will be broken down into 3 separate parts with Initium being the 1st of 3. With Diamond D on the production, Initium  boasts features from KRS-One, RJ Payne, Skyzoo, Torae, Bishop Lamont, Sauce Money, Lord Tariq, Fat Man Scoop, Royal Flush, Agallah, David Bars, Inspectah Deck, Shyheim, 38 Spesh, E-A-Ski and Bonecrusher. These projects have been consistently dope, so I expect no less from this latest offering. To me, Diamond D's Stunts, Blunts & Hip-Hop might still be the greatest solo release out the Diggin In The Crates catalog. It's in the top 5 anyway. Am I wrong? Awon & Phoniks "Golden Era 2" (Album Stream)
